How tall is your tree?
This tree is 6.5 feet tall. We always decorate two trees. Our other tree is 12 feet tall and is a challenge to decorate. We always decorate this tree last because it seems so easy after tackling the larger tree.

What mix of ornaments did you use for this tree?
I used a mixture of balls and snowflake ornaments. I chose balls that were either red or silver. I made sure that the balls varied in texture (glitter versus flat) and pattern (solid versus striped). I added in some white snowflake ornaments that I picked up at our local Salvation Army for $1.

How many ornaments did you use to achieve that look?
Between the balls and snowflakes, there were approximately 50 to 60 ornaments used on this tree.

How did you decide on the decorating theme of your tree?
I based my theme on the color scheme for the rest of the room's decorations. I was into red flannel and textured metal. I had a limited decorating budget so I had to use ornaments that I previously owned. I had a mix of red, green, silver, and gold to choose from. Red and silver seemed like the best fit. I also wanted the tree to have a bit of a vintage feel to it so I added in the thrifted ornaments.

Is there a story on a signature ornament you'd like to share with us?
There isn't a signature ornament on this tree, but the star topper has topped this tree since our first Christmas together over 8 years ago.

Is there something different you did for this tree that you particularly like?
I liked that I was able to decorate this tree using ornaments that I previously owned, but in a different color scheme than I had used in the past.
